An Athens man was arrested on a warrant Wednesday in connection with the theft of gold coins from an Athens home sometime between September and October, an official said.
Terrence Sharrod Lyle, 20, of 620 Canterbury was charged with second-degree theft of property, according to Athens Police Lt. Floyd Johnson.
Investigator Johnny Campbell and Capt. Marty Bruce arrested Lyle in Decatur, Johnson said.
He is accused of stealing $2500 in $1 gold coins from 612 N. Hine St. between Sept. 9 and Oct. 9, Johnson said.
