County arrests
Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests Thursday:
• Armando Padilla Aguayo, 38, 100 W. Elm St., Athens, driving under the influence and possession of an open container of alcohol
• Dallas Gabriel Jones, 24, of 853 County Road 576, Rogersville, third-degree burglary in connection with a flea market burglary
• Carolyn Sue McKinney, 37, of 7146 Williams St., Athens, second-degree possession of a forged instrument, second-degree theft by deception and two counts of negotiating a worthless negotiable instrument
• John Thomas Posey, 32, of 20840 Simpson Road, Elkmont, sentenced to serve 10 days for conviction on two counts of driving while revoked
• James Elroy Roberts Jr., 26, of 17284 Malone Road, Athens, second-degree theft and third-degree burglary (warrant from Huntsville Police Department)
• John Christopher Wright, 27, of 4836 Indian Hills Road, Decatur, speeding;
• Cathy Marie Yarbrough, 52, of 1931 Cain Drive, Athens, two counts of negotiating a worthless negotiable instrument
County thefts
Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following thefts Thursday:
• .32-caliber handgun value at $90 stolen during burglary between Sept. 8 and Wednesday from 33000 block of Alabama 99
• Toshiba brand laptop valued at $702 stolen between Oct. 26-27 from 16000 block Browns Ferry Road
• Lorazepam anti-anxiety tablets valued at $20 stolen Wednesday from 27000 block Alabama 251
City arrests
Athens Police Department reported the following arrests Thursday:
• Thomas Paul Kanieski, 21, of 107 Fourth Ave., Athens, was charged with interference with custody and harassment. Lt. Floyd Johnson said that in mid-September, Kanieski picked up his 17-year-old girlfriend and helped her runaway from home and was arrested Wednesday night on the warrants.
• Michael Joseph Nichols, 19, of 135 Shed Road, New Market, possession of marijuana
City thefts
• Lavoris Kenta White, 32, of 20436 Green Meadows Road, Athens, violating terms of probation on conviction for DUI
Athens Police Department reported the following thefts Thursday:
• Eight-week-old pit bull terrier puppy with brown right ear valued at $250 stolen Tuesday from 408 S. Madison St.
• Fish-oil pills, baby aspirin, one hormone pill, vitamins, one Abilify brand antipsychotic medication and one sleeping pill, total value $4.75, stolen Wednesday from 209 Swan Drive
• Rear passenger window of Ford Taurus sustained $200 damage due to criminal mischief Thursday at 1255 Audubon Lane
• MTA brand pressure washer valued at $2,000 stolen between Oct. 21 and Wednesday from 119 U.S. 72 East
Wrecks
• Stephanie Diane Griggs, 29, of Lester was injured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday on U.S. 72 at Hine Street, according to Athens Police.

Athens-Limestone Hospital reported no admissions or discharges Thursday.
