An Athens man was charged Saturday with possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop, according to Police Chief Wayne Harper.
Athens Police Officer Ben Garrett stopped Dustin Matthew Crews, 26, of 17335 Harwell Road on Browns Ferry Road and, upon searching him, found a plastic bag containing some Xanax tablets, Harper said.
Crews was transferred to the Limestone County Jail, where he was held on $5,000.
