The outdoor warning siren on Persimmon Tree Road is not operational at this time due to electronic failure. The siren will be down for repairs approximately three weeks.
Limestone County Emergency Management Agency officials ask residents not to rely on the siren to sound during severe weather or tornado warnings.
“Please stay weather aware by using a NOAA weather radio, local TV and radio stations with battery backup,” said Daphne Ellison with Limestone EMA.
Tornado watches and warnings also are posted as breaking news on The News Courier’s Web site at enewscourier.com
