Veteran Southeastern Conference football official Mickey Haddock, center, is shown with Probate Judge Mike Davis, left, and Ron Currin, Rotary program coordinators, during Haddock’s recent appearance at the Athens Rotary Club. Haddock said SEC officials are held to a high standard of accountability. Officials, he said, spend much of their preparation time for upcoming football games reviewing previous game films sent each week to SEC offices where 15 to 20 plays are dissected for accuracy. Speaking directly to controversy that arose from last week’s Alabama and Tennessee game, Haddock said, “We’ve reviewed all the tapes from the game and everything is clean. The media looks for the negative.”
