County arrests
Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests Wednesday:
• Jarvis Deshun Cain, 30, of 1306 Montreat Drive, Athens, possession of a controlled substance, second-degree illegal possession of marijuana
• Joshua Ray Cowan, 25, of 17028 Matthew Way, Apt. 19, Athens, second-degree theft.
• Ryan Valintino Fletcher, 32, of 120 Draper Drive, Madison, violated probation on conviction for second-degree assault
• Deda Michelle Graham, 37, of 26576 Nick Davis Road, Athens, three counts of third-degree theft
• Michael Waymon Keenum, 51, of 10420 U.S. 31, Lot 318, Tanner, negotiating a worthless non-negotiable instrument.
• Abdul Yashar Akkas Nasseri, 27, of 14245 Lucas Ferry Road, Athens, possession of a controlled substance, second-degree illegal possession of marijuana, giving a false name to a police officer.
County thefts
Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following thefts Wednesday.
• Jody Cassidy Dempsey, 18, of 19868 East Limestone, Toney, and Gary Cornelius Stewart, 19, of 19258 East Limestone Road, Toney, were both arrested and charged with the theft of a 20-foot cotton trailer reported stolen Tuesday from the 26,000-block of Bain Road. Dempsey and Stewart were both charged with second-degree theft of property, said Capt. Stanley McNatt.
• A 14-year-old Elkmont juvenile was charged Tuesday with the theft of a wallet containing credit and debits cards at West Limestone High School.
• Five wheels and tires valued at $2,500 were reported to have been stolen between Oct. 24 and Oct. 27 at Alabama Water Sports in the 18,000 block of U.S. 72 West
• Several items including one garden tiller, table saw, welder, generator, compressor, and mulcher/chipper, with a total value of $2,450, were reported stolen between Oct. 6 and Oct. 27 at Christopher Mini Storage on Tillman Mill Road
• Four 22-inch five-spoke rims valued at $1,200 were reported stolen from the 21,000 block of Piney Chapel Road
City arrests
Athens Police Department reported no arrests Wednesday.
City thefts
Athens Police Department reported the following thefts Wednesday:
• A 15-year-old and 16-year-old juvenile were arrested Tuesday and charged with unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle at Camelot Apartments. Both juveniles were transferred to the juvenile detention center in Tuscumbia.
• D & D Marine reported two boats stolen between noon on Monday and 2:40 p.m. Tuesday. Police say a witness saw a suspicious male looking at the boats on Monday. Anyone with information is asked to call Athens Police Department at (256) 233-8700.
• Police report that approximately 4:15 a.m. Wednesday someone broke out the front window of Bestway Rent-to-Own and stole a 50-inch LG Plasma TV. Anyone with information is asked to call (256) 233-8700.
Hospital report
Athens-Limestone Hospital reported one admission and one discharge Wednesday.
Admitted was Mary Cole Well of Athens
Discharged was Willie Crouch of Athens
