The Limestone County Board of Education approved all finalized agenda items during its monthly meeting on Feb. 7 at the Clinton Street annex. The following is a synopsis from the meeting as the board took the following action:
• Authorized professional services contracts for the following: Alicia Bates as special education teacher for homebound services retroactive to Jan. 18 for approximately eight weeks not to exceed $1,512; Michael DeFiore as special education teacher for an extension of homebound services not to exceed $3,600; and Marsha Blankenship for special education parent transportation retroactive to Jan. 7 not to exceed $4,400.
• Created the following new positions: special education instructional assistant at Cedar Hill Elementary School, special education temporary service contracts and American Sign Language interpreters who are licensed, qualified and certified.
