The National Weather Service has placed Limestone, Madison and Morgan counties under a tornado watch until 10 a.m. this morning.
A wind advisory also remains in effect for those counties until 6 p.m. today.
A line of strong-to-severe thunderstorms continues to move north east across Alabama, bringing damaging wind gusts of up to 70 mph and the threat of short-track tornadoes. The storms are affected to affect the Interstate 65 corridor prior to 7 a.m. and are expected to exit the state between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
