BREAKING: Freezing rain advisory canceled; schools start late

— A freezing rain advisory issued yesterday for Limestone County has expired, according to the National Weather Service in Huntsville.

Rain will be likely today with a high of 44 degrees. Tonight is expected to be partly cloudy with a low of 29.

Fearing the threat of poor road conditions this morning, several North Alabama school systems delayed the start of school this morning, including Limestone County Schools, which will start two hours late.

Athens Bible School will open at 10 a.m. Students in K-4 in Athens City Schools will report at 9:30 a.m. while grades 5-12 will report at 10 a.m.
