A preliminary hearing is scheduled Jan. 29 in Limestone County District Court for a Limestone County man accused of fatally stabbing his cousin during a squabble over borrowed movies.
Kenny Dewayne Adams, 35, of 14916 Chris Way, Lot 6, is scheduled to appear at 1:30 p.m., at which time a judge will determine if there is adequate evidence to try the accused or whether the initial charge should be dismissed.
Adams could choose to waive his right to a preliminary hearing and the case would be bound over to the grand jury. The grand jury would then determine if there is adequate evidence to formally charge the accused.
Adams is accused in the New Year’s Eve day stabbing of his cousin, Yancey Metz Foster, 34, in the chest with a pocketknife at Foster’s mobile home at 14580 Chris Way, Lot 6, west of Athens.
Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely says the cousins were arguing over the movies, “The Fast and the Furious” and “2 Fast 2 Furious.”
