The Athens-Limestone Ministerial Alliance will host a local prayer event Thursday in conjunction with the National Day of Prayer. Residents of any denomination are asked to join local ministers at noon on the steps n the east side of Limestone County Courthouse.
Stacey Wolfe will sing the national anthem and Wade Batts will perform “The Lord’s Prayer.”
Limestone County Circuit Judge Jimmy Woodroof will be guest speaker. Local pastors including Dave Root, Phillip Presley, John Axford, Rob Phraner, Eric Pugh and Greg Patrick will lead prayers for the community and local governments, local schools, families and churches, emergency responders and members of the military.
