Man accused of harassing wife, assaulting deputy

— A Madison man accused of harassing his wife Sunday night, then assaulting and threatening the deputy who arrested him remains in the Limestone County Jail.

Bail is set at $15,000 for Michael Chadwick White, 37, of 30633 U.S. 72 West, on charges of third-degree domestic violence (harassment), second-degree assault and making a terrorist threat, records show.

White’s wife placed a call to 911 about 8:03 p.m. Sunday to report possible verbal harassment, records show. Limestone County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Capt. Stanley McNatt said Deputy Rhett McNatt and reserve deputy Nick Thompson were dispatched to Whites’ home where, after investigating the complaint, they arrested White.

“While in the patrol car, the offender began head-butting the cage of the patrol car and cussing at the deputy,” Capt. McNatt said. “He then threatened the deputy, saying, ‘I will slit your wife’s and kid’s throats and watch them bleed.’”

When White began kicking the window of the patrol car, the deputies pulled to the side of U.S. 72 to further restrain him and prevent him from breaking the patrol car window, Capt. McNatt said.

In the process of trying to restrain White, who was kicking, White’s knee struck McNatt in the face resulting in the assault charge, Capt. McNatt said.
