ATHENS —
A section of McClellan Street in Athens will be closed from early Monday morning to mid-day Tuesday for repair and resurfacing to the CSX railroad track.
Motorists will have to take another route to avoid that location.
Dwight Emerson of CSX announced the impending closing today, saying the crossing at West McClellan, between Fourth Avenue and North Clinton Street, would be closed from 7 a.m. Monday through mid-day Tuesday.
Workers will be cleaning mud subgrade from the tracks, replacing boards and resurfacing. He said the six inches of asphalt will be laid Tuesday morning but will take four to five hours to cure before traffic can resume through the area.
