Three donkeys found Monday near Elk River Mills Road have been reunited with their owner, Limestone County Sheriff’s officials said Thursday. The owner told officials he had been looking for the animals for a few days and thought they had wandered into the woods. The donkeys were being held at the Limestone County Sheriff’s Rodeo Arena on Alabama 99 until deputies could locate the owner or until the owner saw media reports about the lost donkeys.
