EAST LIMESTONE —
Sheriff Mike Blakely and his deputies were in chase-mode Friday for the second-consecutive day after a man allegedly banged on the window of a home in the Capshaw community and then fled.
About 4:25 p.m., the Sheriff’s Department was called to a home where a young man had called his grandfather to report a man banging on a window of the home, the sheriff said. When the grandfather arrived, he said he saw a man running from the area.
Blakely immediately called for the tracking dogs from Limestone Correctional Facility in part because an armed robbery had occurred in the East Limestone area the day before.
East Limestone was still nervous after three men, armed with two guns and wearing ski masks, robbed Joe’s Pharmacy at Capshaw and East Limestone roads at mid-day Thursday. Those suspects stole painkillers, cash and the pharmacist’s car, drove to nearby Foxridge Subdivision and dumped the car. The three men, who witnesses described as black, ran across at least one yard and hopped into a white mini van driven by another black man. The sheriff believes the men fled immediately to Madison County. They have not yet been found.
