EAST LIMESTONE —
A Harvest man killed Tuesday night on U.S. 72 in Limestone County was just beginning his life and his career as a design engineer.
Adam Stryker Telle, 25, of Lancelot Circle, died of blunt force trauma in the 11:15 p.m. wreck, four miles east of Athens, according to Limestone County Coroner Mike West and state troopers.
“He was coming around a curve just past Limestone Creek on 72 and lost control,” West said. “He went into the ditch and hit a concrete culvert head-on.”
“This was his first job out of school,” said Jason Stewart, engineering manager for CDS-John Blue Co., an agricultural pump manufacturer in Huntsville. “We hired him in August 2010 after he graduated from UAB.”
Stewart said he was shocked when he learned of Telle’s death Wednesday morning.
“He was very easy going, very humble and he was a hard worker,” Stewart said of Telle, with whom he worked closely. “We are a small place, and he was always very flexible. If he was not involved in engineering, he was more than willing to do other tasks.”
Telle, who grew up in Hoover and is survived by his parents, was also interested in cars, Stewart said.
“I will really miss him, and it is a shock this morning, ” Stewart said.
Telle, who was driving a 2005 Infinity, was not wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred, said Alabama state troopers spokesman Curtis Summerville.
“Although circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation, state troopers say speed was a factor,” Summerville said.
Telle’s funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
