Paving projects begin in Athens

— Athens plans to start paving projects, weather permitting, in two areas of the city the week of May 21.

Public Works Director James Rich said paving will be done on Lindsay Lane from East Strain Road to Hastings Road.

In the northern part of the city, paving will be done in the areas of Sanders Street, Malone Street, First Avenue and Third Avenue.

“We appreciate our citizens’ attention to our employees’ safety during these projects,” Rich said.

Motorists should use caution and expect delays while work is ongoing. The projects are expected to take about two weeks.
