Limestone school board approved personnel

ATHENS — Limestone County school board members approved the following personnel items during their regular monthly meeting:

• Approved contracts with the following: Ashley Daly, special Education homebound teacher; Rosemary Houchin, special education parent transportation; Amy Lewis, speech language pathologist; and Amanda Wilson, special education homebound teacher

• Agreed to transfer Keith Hairrell from interim principals at Clements High School to principal at Clements effective April 11

• Accepted the following resignations: Jodie Wray, secretary/bookkeeper at Cedar Hill Elementary School, retroactive to March 30; Melanie Preston, collaborative teacher at Elkmont, retroactive to March 23; Misty Wright, extended-day director only at Owens Elementary School, effective April 13; and Jamie Smith, assistant principal at West Limestone High School, effective April 11

• Approve leave instead of sick leave for the following: Lorel Pope, CNP cashier at Tanner High School, retroactive to Jan. 25 for two days

• Approved an extended leave of absence for Janie Smith, mathematics teacher at East Limestone High School, effective May 7 for the rest of the 2011-12 school year only

• Approved leaves of absence for the following: Andrea Swan, Title I instructional assistant at Blue Springs Elementary School, retroactive to Feb, 20 through approximately April 12; Edward Nave, bus driver at East Limestone, retroactive to March 5 through approximately April 16; Erin Elkins, Spanish teacher at Elkmont High School, effective the first semester of the 2012-13 school year under the provisions of Family and Medical Leave Act; Tamara Holt, elementary teacher at Elkmont, effective the first semester of the 2012-13 school year under the provisions of FMLA

• Approved the following as substitutes: Lori Vining for a teacher at Creekside Elementary School, effective approximately April 23 through approximately May 24; Daniel Smith for a mathematics teacher at East Limestone, effective May 7 for the rest of the 2011-12 school year only; Kyle Montgomery for a maintenance worker at Bus Garage, retroactive to March 23 through approximately June 29

• Approved supplemental pay for April, May, August and September for the following: Michelle Richardson, Title II technology teacher at Ardmore High School; Tammy Hilliard, Title II technology teacher at Ardmore; Tammy Embry, Title II technology teacher at Blue Springs; Michelle Mitchell, Title II technology teacher at Cedar Hill Elementary School; Velvet Black, Title II technology teacher at Clements; Scott McCormick, Title II technology teacher at Clements; Lynette Cobb, Title II technology teacher at  Creekside; Leigh Anne Carter, Title II technology teacher at  Creekside; Kelly Ford, Title II technology teacher at  East Limestone; Dawn Martin,  Title II technology teacher at  East Limestone; Mitzi Looney, Title II technology teacher at  Johnson Elementary School; Michele Brazeal, Title II technology teacher at  Elkmont; Cindy Wales, Title II technology teacher at  Elkmont; Michael Hobbs, Title II technology teacher at  Owens Elementary School; Jennifer King, Title II technology teacher at  Piney Chapel Elementary School; Kristin Andrews, Title II technology teacher at  Tanner; Annie Knight, Title II technology teacher at  Tanner; Vicky Shields, Title II technology teacher at  West Limestone; Elaine Morris, Title II technology teacher at  West Limestone

• Approved the following temporary and volunteer help: Leigh Carter, part-time office worker at Johnson (to be paid by school); and James Crutcher as assistant track coach at East Limestone.
