— The City of Athens will open its municipal pool in time for citizens to enjoy it Memorial Day weekend.
The pool, located at the Sportsplex on U.S. 31, will open Saturday, May 26 at noon. Pool hours will be Monday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m.
Admission is $4 and for those 12 and younger, admission is $3.
Season passes are available. A family season pass is $150. An individual season pass is $60. Passes can be obtained at the Athens Recreation Center located off U.S. 31 north of Athens High School’s football stadium.
The pool is available for rent for special occasions. The rental cost is $75 an hour with a two-hour minimum rental time. Pool events cannot exceed 100 people.
The pool can be used for special occasions on Saturdays from 6-9 p.m. and on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. Make reservations at the Athens Recreation Center.
