Turner Lee Rogers, 56, of 106 Edinburgh Drive in Athens, turned himself in to Athens Police Tuesday on two warrants obtained by Officer Greg Parnell.
The first warrant was for failure to register as a sex offender and the second was for failure to pay a registration fee.
Rogers failed to register with the Police Department in January as required by law. The second charge is for not paying the fee he is required to pay. The fees sex offenders pay offset the cost of registration and the notifications the law requires.
Rogers will remain in the Limestone County Jail until he completes registration requirements.
Rogers is not listed on the state’s convicted sex offender website, and there was no information immediately available about the nature of the original offense that led to his conviction and requirement to register.
