Northwest Limestone under flash flood warning until 7:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has placed northwest Limestone under a flash flood warning until 7:30 p.m.

At 5:21 p.m., Doppler radar indicated a broad area of showers and thunderstorms producing moderate to heavy rainfall across northwest Alabama. Spotter reports indicate that 2 to locally 4 inches of rainfall have already fallen west of a line from Cartwright to Moulton to Phil Campbell.

Additional heavy rainfall will cause flash flooding through this evening. A flood watch remains in effect through Tuesday morning.
