Limestone under freezing rain advisory

— A freezing rain advisory is in effect for Limestone County until 9 a.m. Friday morning.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville is forecasting a weak system to move into the area late tonight and Friday. As temperatures fall, precipitation within the system could freeze to exposed surfaces.

Ice accumulations of up to a quarter of an inch may be possible.

The NWS says travel may be difficult, especially on bridges, overpasses or elevated surfaces. Slick or slippery spots may develop on local roads.

Motorists are advised to plan their travels accordingly.
