Two people with an alleged penchant for stealing video games were arrested over the weekend by Athens Police.
Officers were called to Walmart Saturday night in reference to two subjects attempting to steal games. A press release from Athens Police said the description of the suspects fit the description of two people who had stolen games in the past.
When officer Jimmy Rogers arrived at the store, he detained Angel Aleviado-Plunkett, 21, and Dhalquistiere Eichelberger, 22, both of 24743 Makani Lane, Madison, and then called investigations.
Investigators interviewed both suspects and then arrested them on charges of first-degree theft. Police believe the pair stole 20 PlayStation games and 25 Xbox games valued at $2,658.20 on Feb. 1. They were also charged with second-degree theft in connection to the theft of 27 games on Feb. 20.
After being booked at the Athens Police Department, they were transferred to the Limestone County Jail. Their bond was set at $5,000 each.
