MONTGOMERY —
The Alabama House of Representatives has passed a bill that will allow local schools to have more local administrative control and great ability to solve problems.
If approved by the Senate, the Local School Control Flexibility Act (HB84) would provide local school leaders and teachers more freedom to help students achieve. It would also give local schools more budgeting flexibility. For example, if a school needed money for books and had money for buses it did not need, it could tap these funds. A school would still have to get a waiver to do this, which would require public discussion, local and state board approval.
