Wacky Quacky Ducky Derby, the largest fundraiser of the year for Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful is set for Saturday, Oct. 2. For a $5 duck adoption donation, a specially designed rubber racing duck will be entered into the race in the donor’s name.
The duck that comes through the new trap first in the championship race will feather its adoptive parent’s nest with the McClary Ford $1,000 grand prize.
Other prizes include four one-day park hopper passes to Disney World, a $250 gift certificate to Osborne’s Jewelers, a stay at Sam’s Town in Tunica, Miss., and a $100 gift certificate to Hobbs Jewelers, among others.
Chick-fil-A Quack Packs are also available for a $25 donation. Each includes a sixth duck free and a gift certificate for a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich.
“We have had grand prize winners that purchased one duck and other past winners that donated a few hundred dollars,” said Lynne Hart, executive coordinator for KALB. “All donations large and small are appreciated and support KALB’s projects and programs.”
