BREAKING: Limestone under flood warning until 4:30 p.m.

— Limestone County is under a flood warning until 4:30 p.m. today.

A statement from National Weather Service in Huntsville says 1 to 2 inches of rain are possible today. The rain falling onto an already saturated ground will run off and produce flooding of more area roads and highways, especially in and near flood-prone areas.

Further rises in area rivers and streams levels could cause additional flooding problems.

A flood warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported. Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Move to higher ground.
