ATHENS —
A Huntsville man is recovering at Huntsville Hospital after he was injured Tuesday morning when his truck rear-ended a road-striping truck at a railroad crossing on Nuclear Plant Road.
Nick Vann Harris, who works for J.C. Cheek Contractors Inc. in Mississippi, was traveling along Nuclear Plant Road near Stewart Road about 8:45 a.m. when he struck a J.C. Cheek road-striping truck from behind after it slowed for the railroad tracks.
There was no train involved in the accident.
Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson said the driver apparently was not paying attention and struck the road equipment.
Harris was taken by MedFlight helicopter to Huntsville Hospital, where he was listed in good condition Tuesday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said.
