A head-on crash in Madison County killed a Gurley man and injured an Owens Crossroads man early Monday, an official said.
About 7:35 a.m., Anthony L. Barnhill, 63, was driving south on Dug Hill Road in a 1998 GMC when his vehicle collided with a 1995 Chevrolet S-10 pickup driven by 16-year-old Daniel Taylor, who was heading north on Dug Hill, said Trooper spokesman Curtis Summerville.
Barnhill, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
A passenger in Barnhill’s vehicle, Geri Barnhill, 65, of Gurley, was flown by MedFlight helicopter to Huntsville Hospital. Taylor was also transported to Huntsville Hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, Summerville said.
Troopers continue to investigate circumstances surrounding the crash.
