John Wade Keyes DAR announces JAC Alabama winners

— Twenty-six students were recently named Junior American Citizen state competition winners and 15 were named southeastern division winners at the April meeting of the John Wade Keyes chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. 

The contestants demonstrated through their art the 2011-2012 theme “Enhance the Present.”

The contest is open to all pre-school through 12th grade students in public, private, and parochial schools, and in sanctioned home study programs in the categories gifted, general and special needs.

There were 65 winners in the Alabama Society DAR JAC contest. Following are the 26 John Wade Keyes JAC Alabama winners from Athens Bible School:

The JAC Committee is the national DAR’s second oldest youth-oriented committee, preceded only by the Children of the American Revolution.  The purpose of the Junior American Citizens Committee is to teach America's school children the principles of our democratic government and an appreciation for our great country.
