The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for today and Friday.
This afternoon and tonight, an upper-level disturbance and a cold front are likely to produce thunderstorms that may become strong to severe. The primary threat is strong winds and damaging hail. There is only a slight risk of tornadoes, according to the Limestone County Emergency Management Agency.
Dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning and locally heavy rainfall are possible.
The front is expected to stall overnight and severe weather may continue through Friday morning with the possibility for scattered thunderstorms, gusty winds, frequent lightning and small hail.
Most of the storms should be out of the area by Friday night.
