2 Florence men charged in car theft
Limestone County authorities have charged two Florence men in connection with the theft of a used car, an official said.
Jerry Glenn Cherry, 50, of 2575 County Road 137, and William Lee Walker, 53, of 90 County Road 243, were charged Friday with first-degree theft, records show. Each was released from the Limestone County Jail after posting a $5,000 bond.
They are accused of stealing a 1981 Oldsmobile valued at $500 from the 8000 block of U.S. 72 West on Thursday, said Limestone County Sheriff’s Chief Investigator Stanley McNatt.
The car has been recovered, McNatt said.

• Harrison Lavares White, 33, of 25809 Cole St., Elkmont, driving under the influence
• Jacob Kyle Eaton, 19, of 409 Camelot, Athens, DUI
• Paul Dwight Meredith, 58, of 10731 Snake Road, Athens, DUI
• William David Michael, 51, of 3151 S. Smith Road, Loganville, Ga., DUI
County thefts
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following thefts Monday:
• Heater of undetermined value stolen Wednesday from old Delphi-Saginaw plant 21
• Seventy-fifth edition Snap-on brand toolbox valued at $6,000 stolen between Jan. 18 and Thursday from 29000 block Cedar Acres Drive
• $100 in quarters stolen from quarter slide machine and $600 damage done to building during burglary Saturday at Posey’s Grocery in 14000 block U.S. 72
• Craftsman brand skill saw and reciprocating saw, Porter-Cable brand air compressor, miscellaneous jewelry, wheelbarrow and basketball goal, total value $2,140, stolen during burglary between Wednesday and Saturday in 16000 block Tremont
• Acer brand laptop computer valued at $664 stolen Saturday from 16000 block American Way
• Copper wire valued at $1,000 stolen during burglary at vacant residence in 8000 block U.S. 72 West; reported missing Sunday
• AT&T; brand Razor cellular telephone valued at $200 stolen between Jan. 17 and Sunday from 17000 block Fairway Drive

The Athens Police Department reported the following arrests Monday:
• Eddie Dee Johnson, 51, of 320 W. Forrest St., Athens, public intoxication
• George Edward Freer, 24, of 408 Short St., Hartselle, DUI
• Andre Marcell Howard, 45, of 26658 Newby Road, Athens, probation revoked on previous conviction for DUI
• Michael Anthony Powell, 26, of 6205 Rime Village Drive, Apt. 203, Huntsville, harassment
• Tony Keith Routh, 39, of 503 Schilling St., Athens, domestic violence
• Alex Alvarado Llamas, 21, of 2910 Holiday Drive, Huntsville, DUI
• Angela Teressa McMahan Fagan, 44, of 22072 Sharpe Road, Madison, theft of property and possession of a controlled substance
City thefts
The Athens Police Department reported the following thefts Monday:
• Pair of shoes valued at $15 stolen Friday from Walmart at 1011 U.S. 72 East
• Hotel wall, carpet, wooden dresser and television, total value $850, damaged due to criminal mischief between Jan. 24 and Sunday at 1322 U.S. 72 East, Room 141
• Makeup, nail polish and 71 Didrex 50-milligram pills (brand name appetite suppressant), total value $96, stolen Sunday from Walmart
Wrecks
• Angela Mae Haggenmaker, 35, of Athens was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 11 p.m. Friday on U.S. 72 at Athens-Limestone Boulevard, according to Athens Police.
Hospital report
Athens-Limestone Hospital reported no admissions and two discharges Monday.
Discharged: Stacey Turner of Athens and Lila Shields of Elkmont

Charles Page Sr. killed in wreck; daughter Caroline seriously injured
