Man arrested on sex abuse charges

— A man suspected of sexually abusing a female family member was arrested Thursday on sex abuse charges.

Lt. Jay Stinnett of the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office said a complaint filed by the Limestone County Child Advocacy Center alleged that 30-year-old Francisco Carlos Suarez, of 14387 Grubbs Road, Athens, had fondled a 15-year-old relative.

After conducting interviews with the victim and offender, Stinnett arrested Suarez on second-degree sexual abuse charges, which is a misdemeanor.

Suarez remained in the Limestone County Jail Friday on $10,000 bond.
