BLACKBURN —
A man was fatally stabbed Monday afternoon at a trailer park west of Athens.
Deputies were called about 2:36 p.m. to a possible stabbing at Lot 10 on Chris Way, which is located west of Blackburn Road.
Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely told The News Courier the victim, whom he declined to name at the time, died before emergency workers could get him to Huntsville Hospital by MedFlight helicopter.
Shortly after the call, Blakely and deputies were trying to ascertain the location of a man in his late 20s whom they intended to question about the incident.
Deputies were questioning a suspect by 4:30 p.m., but the sheriff declined to name him until later Monday night.
Investigators were still gathering information at the scene at 5 p.m.
