ATHENS —
Beginning Tuesday, the southern ramp of U.S. 31 accessing U.S. 72 will be closed for about three days for drainage improvements.
The Alabama Department of Transportation will make Freeman Drive to Boleyn Street the detour route.
Once work on the southbound ramp is completed, the ALDOT will close the northbound ramp accessing U.S. 72 to make drainage improvements. The same detour will be used.
The project will take about three days.
Motorists are urged to slow down and beware of workers during this time.
