— HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Soldiers in an Alabama National Guard battalion are returning home after a yearlong deployment in Afghanistan.
About 150 members of the 115th Expeditionary Signal Battalion are scheduled to arrive Sunday afternoon at Huntsville Airport. The welcoming ceremony at the airport is limited to family members.
The Huntsville Times (http://bit.ly/RaunQR ) reports that the battalion is made of companies from Huntsville and Moulton, Florence and Sheffield. They were deployed last October.
Some members of the unit returned to Fort Bliss in Texas earlier this week. National Guard officials said the remainder will be back in a week.
