Deputies thwart burglary
Charles Morgan Thornton, 47, of 2094 Jackson Clinic Road, Minor Hill, Tenn., was arrested Tuesday on charges of third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree attempted burglary, records show. He is accused of attempting to break in a door to garage at a residence off Alabama 251, according to Limestone County Sheriff’s Chief Investigator Stanley McNatt. Deputy Brent Burroughs and Deputy Justin Flanagan detained him and Investigator Randy Burroughs charged him, McNatt said.
County arrests
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department also reported the following arrests Wednesday:
• Gary Leon Cox, 47, of 22661 New Garden Road, Elkmont, disorderly conduct and public intoxication
• Jared Michael Hill, 20, of 12115 Hickory Hills Road, Athens, bond on promoting prison contraband revoked
• Kristopher Michael McComas, 21, 16874 Raspberry Lane, Athens, third-degree domestic violence (harassment)
County thefts
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following thefts Wednesday:
• Kirby brand vacuum and Skill brand reciprocating saw, total value $2,355, stolen between Aug. 28 and Tuesday in 27000 block of Valley Drive
City arrests
The Athens City Police Department reported the following arrests Wednesday:
• Bruce Mantonia Sharpley, 46, of 159 Dallas St., Russellville, probation on third-degree domestic violence revoked
• Luis Lozada Buono, 25, of 309 Thomas St., Athens, carrying a pistol without a permit
City thefts
The Athens City Police Department reported the following thefts Wednesday:
• Flowerpot valued at $75 damage due to criminal mischief at 117 S. Marion St. sometime between Saturday and Tuesday
• Black wallet valued $20, checkbook, Social Security card, Alabama driver’s license, debit card and $105 in cash stolen Tuesday from Big Lots at 603 U.S. 72 West
Hospital report
Athens-Limestone Hospital reported one admission and no discharges Wednesday.
