A motorcyclist injured in a shooting on U.S. 72 near the intersection of Mooresville Road has been taken to Huntsville Hospital via MedFlight.
Preliminary dispatch reports indicate the motorcyclist was shot by a man in a sport-utility vehicle while traveling on U.S. 72 east near the driving range. The man pulled into the driving range following the shooting.
A News Courier reporter at the scene said the victim was concsious and called his mother prior to calling paramedics. Traffic on U.S. 72 east was stopped temporarily as MedFlight landed near the scene.
The condition and name of the wounded party is not known at this time, but MedFlight has been dispatched to the scene. The News Courier will have more information as it becomes available.
