Alleged theft from beer truck ends in wreck in Huntsville

. —

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Huntsville police say a man who tried steal beer from a delivery truck wound up at a hospital after a wreck.

Authorities say a man attempted to steal several cases of beer from a truck making a delivery to a convenience store Thursday when a worker saw what was happening and tried to intervene.

WAFF-TV (http://bit.ly/RpvWpo ) reports that the man then pulled away, ran a stop sign and collided head-on with another vehicle, a truck.

The driver of the truck was alert and talking after the crash. But the man who allegedly tried to steal beer had to be removed from his vehicle and taken to a hospital.

Police haven't released any names, and they haven't said what charges might be filed.
