Limestone Countians, several members of the local clergy and singers will gather today to commemorate those lives lost in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
“We will be remembering the largest, on our shores, attack by foreign terrorists,” said organizer John Axford, director of Living Water Works Ministries and associate of the Athens-Limestone Ministerial Alliance. “We will come together in our fourth year of this event and thank God for his watchful eye.”
The fourth annual Remembrance and Celebration event will take place at noon at the American flag on the east side of the Limestone County Courthouse Square.
Citizens will have the opportunity to sing and pray for the county’s first responders, officials, schools and armed forces.
