County arrests

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests Tuesday:

• Christy Dianne Haygood, 29, of 19375 Sewell Road, Athens, third-degree domestic violence (harassment)

• Christopher Daniel Leslie, 23, of 766 Clutts Road, Harvest, negotiating a worthless negotiable instrument

• Ritchie Gene Powell, 40, of 731 County Road 50, Rogersville, two counts of negotiating a worthless negotiable instrument

• Amy Lynn Schauder, 29, of 23739 Pressnell Road, Athens, obstruction of justice by giving false information to law-enforcement

• Kendrick Remond Scruggs, 34, of 16752 Alabama 20, Hillsboro, driving under the influence, speeding and no insurance

• John West Smith, 52, of 36 Sandra Lane, Athens, negotiating a worthless negotiable instrument

• Phillip Edward Wright, 44, 26440 Grady Lane, Ardmore, third-degree domestic violence (assault)



County thefts

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following thefts Tuesday:

• FMJ brand .45-caliber derringer valued at $150 stolen May 25 from the 19000 block of Hill Drive

• Pioneer brand CD player valued at $100 stolen Saturday from vehicle in the 22000 block of Easter Ferry Road; vehicle sustained $380 damage

• $50 cash stolen Saturday from the 11000 block of New Cut Road

• Louis Vuitton brand purse valued at $800 plus credit cards, debit cards and checkbook stolen Sunday from vehicle at Arrowhead Landing

• Prescription medication stolen Sunday from the 21000 block of Piney Chapel Road



City arrests

The Athens Police Department reported the following arrests Tuesday:

• Bryan Keith Cline, 21, of 11358 Caroline Drive, Apt. 531, Athens, first-degree theft of property

• George Randall Piersol, 36, of 100 E. Sanderfer Road, Apt. 136, Athens, DUI

• Steven Blake Rogers, 21, of 26290 Sixth St., Ardmore, criminal trespass

• Terris Alan Widner, 37, of 15245 Elk River Mills Road, Apt. 10, Athens, possession of drug paraphernalia



City thefts

The Athens Police Department reported the following thefts Tuesday:

• Mazda 626 at 600 Ninth Ave., D-21, Athens, used without permission between Sunday and Monday

• Taurus brand 9-mm handgun valued at $500 stolen Saturday or Sunday from 810 Garrett Drive

• Room at 1488 Thrasher Boulevard rented Feb. 7 through 10 but lessee failed to pay $228 bill

• Next brand bicycle valued at $275 stolen between Sunday and Monday from 304 Henry Drive

• Garbage can valued at $100 stolen Monday from 1514 Elkton St.

• Taurus .38-caliber pistol valued at $270 stolen between May 23-26 from 503 Sixth St.



Wrecks

• Ruth Kimbrough McKinney, 58, of Athens was injured in a three-vehicle accident at 1:20 p.m. Monday on U.S. 31 in Athens, between Wauchula Drive and Sanderfer Road, according to Athens Police. She was treated at Athens-Limestone Hospital.



Hospital report

Athens-Limestone Hospital reported two admissions and two discharges Tuesday.

Admitted: Myrna Morris and Douglas Jones, both of Athens

Discharged: Christopher Tallent of Elkmont and Junior Gatlin of Athens
