An Athens man lost his cash and gained two misdemeanor charges Friday, according to Athens Police.
Alan Dale Pack, 50, of 1107 1/2 W. Pryor St. was charged with soliciting prostitution and making a false report to a law-enforcement officer, records show.
Pack initially told police a white female knocked on the door of his home Friday and asked to use the restroom, said Capt. Marty Bruce.
“He reported that after she came out of the restroom, she reached into his pocket and took $2,700 from him,” Bruce said.
After being questioned by Investigator Johnny Campbell, Pack admitted that the female offered to have sex with him for $40 and he agreed, Campbell said.
Authorities doubt the woman took $2,700 from Pack.
“We aren’t sure how much money the woman got, if any,” Bruce said. “We don’t believe she took $2,700; she took the money from his pants pocket.”
Authorities also did not know if the woman had visited Pack’s home on previous occasions to use the restroom.
