Athens High School student MaKenzey Cain, the daughter of Olando and Kelly Cain, was recently diagnosed with cancer.
The ninth-grade student, who has a passion for cheerleading, is currently receiving treatments for T-cell Lymphoma at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
MaKenzey is the twin sister to MaKayley and older sister to Lillian.
A fashion show in MaKenzey’s honor is set for Saturday, Aug. 25.
The Beauty of Hope Fashion Show for MaKenzey Cain , sponsored by Miss Southern Elegance Beauty Pageant, will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday at Athens Middle School.
Cost is $5 at the door.
All proceeds will be given to the Cain family to help cover medical and travel expenses.
Donations and volunteers are accepted and needed.
The fashion show is for all ages and there is no charge to enter. Practice for the show will be at 11 a.m. Saturday morning.

A Facebook page “Cheering for MaKenzey” has been set so friends and members of the community can follow her updates. The page has a list of fundraisers being held in MaKenzey’s honor. The site also includes information about “Cheering for MaKenzey” bracelets and T-shirts, designed by her twin sister, that are being sold to raise money for her treatments.
