MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Gov. Robert Bentley has proclaimed Friday as "October Baby Day" in Alabama.

Bentley said he issued the proclamation to recognize the movie "October Baby," which was filmed entirely in Alabama. The film was produced and directed by brothers Jon and Andrew Erwin from Shelby County. It had a limited release last fall and is having its nationwide release Friday. It will be shown in more than 350 theaters.

The director of the Alabama Development Office, Greg Canfield, said he hopes to attract more films that can be shot entirely in Alabama because the state now offers film companies tax incentives that are competitive with other states.
