Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Clark Duren of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Nicole Duren, to Robert Scott Connally, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Joe Connally of Trussville.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Elizabeth Lewis Leopard of Tanner and Virgil Duren of Athens and the late James Lloyd Leopard and JoAnn Duren Helstrom.
She is a 2004 graduate of Athens High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of Alabama where she received a bachelor’s degree in marketing. She is employed by Book Systems Inc. as a project manager.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Billie Byce Byrd of Trussville and the late Ben Byrd and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Horace Connally.
He is a 2004 graduate of Hewitt-Trussville High School and a 2008 and 2009 graduate of the University of Alabama where he received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering. He is currently attending the University of Alabama School of Law where he is pursuing a juris doctorate with plans to graduate in May.
The wedding is planned for May 19 at Madelyn’s in the Grove in Athens.
