ARDMORE —
Kip Bates and Shelly Hardymon, both of Athens, announce the engagement of their daughter, Taylor Lindsay Bates, to Samuel Blake Gregory, son of Harold Gregory and Lisa Jackson, both of Athens.
The couple were engaged Oct. 25, 2011.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lenzy and Carolyn Bates and Donna Wright, all of Athens, and the late Kenneth Wright.
She is a 2010 graduate of Athens High School and is currently attending Calhoun Community College where she is pursuing an associate degree in dental assistance.
She is employed in Athens.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Bobby and Sue Gilliam and Naomi Weatherford, all of Athens, and the late Tony Gregory.
He is a 2010 graduate of Athens High School.
He is employed by Hobbs Jewelers as a jeweler.
The wedding is planned for March 17 in the old sanctuary of First Baptist Church in Athens.
