Jess and Diana Black of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Diana Black, to Matthew Lynn Magnusson, son of Ronny and Gayle Magnusson of Athens.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Glenn and Aileen Black and Donald and Rosalie Sanders, all of Athens.
She is a 2000 graduate of Clements High School and a 2008 graduate of Samford University, where she earned a doctorate in pharmacy.
She is employed by Publix as pharmacy manager.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Wilma Miller of Ryland, the late Ronald Miller Sr., and the late Julius and Ila Magnusson.
He is a 2000 graduate of Ardmore High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Alabama, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
He is employed by Listerhill Total Maintenance Center as project manager.
The wedding is planned for Dec. 12, 2009, at First United Methodist Church of Athens.
