Mr. and Mrs. Rodger Pitts of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter Britney Shane Brown to Joseph William Cashell of Pooler, Ga., son of David and Barbara Cashell of Hilliard, Ohio.
The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Carl Brown and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Elton Abernathy and Clint Brown Sr., all of Athens, and the late Margarete C. Abernathy, Marge Brown and Sarah Plummer.
She is a 2005 graduate of Athens High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of North Alabama where she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
She is an elementary education teacher.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Maryanne Cashell of Hilliard, Ohio and the late Joseph Cashell and Mary Ellen Bentz.
He is a 1999 graduate of Hilliard Darby High School and a 2004 graduate of Ohio State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering.
He is employed by Boeing as an aerospace engineer.
The wedding is planned for July 28 at Whitefield Square in Savannah, Ga.
