Mr. and Mrs. Michael W. Davis of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Marie Davis, to Matthew Brandon Gourgeot, son of Mr. and Mrs. Denis J. Gourgeot of Memphis, Tenn., and Angie M. Todd of Decatur.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Marilyn B. Tallman of Florence and the late Daniel C. Tallman and Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Davis.
She is a 2004 graduate of Athens High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of North Alabama where she received a bachelor’s degree in environmental science with a minor in marketing.
She is employed by Interstate Billing Service in Decatur in the credit department.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Denis J. Gourgeot Sr. of New Orleans and Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Todd of Decatur.
He is a 2004 graduate of Austin High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of North Alabama where he received a bachelor’s degree in public relations.
He is employed by Yellowbook 360 in Huntsville as a sales manager.
The wedding is planned for April 28 at First United Methodist Church in Florence.
