Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Richard Tanner of Mobile announce the engagement of their daughter, Allison Caroline Tanner to Jack Witty Allen Jr. of Decatur, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Witty Allen of Athens.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Verne Newsome of Mobile and the late Mr. and Mrs. B.C. Tanner.
She is a 2003 graduate of St. Paul’s Episcopal High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Alabama where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in business marketing. She received her master’s degree in business from the University of South Alabama in 2010.
She is employed by Alabama Power Company as a risk management analyst.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. Betty Witty Allen of Athens and Mrs. Jonibel R. Smith of Birmingham and the late John “Jack” Houston Allen and Sidney Daly Smith.
He is a 2003 graduate of Decatur High School and a 2008 graduate of Auburn University Ginn College of Engineering where he received a Bachelor of Science in wireless electrical engineering.
He is employed by Prism Systems as a systems integrator.
The wedding is planned for January 21 at Springhill Avenue United Methodist Church in Mobile.
