Matthew Moffatt of Killen and Joy Moffatt of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter Laura Ashley Moffatt of Athens to Jordan Travis Koonce of Charleston, S.C., son of Mark and Beck Carter of Athens.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Earline Cleveland of Athens and the late Wayne Cleveland and Almanzo and Louise Moffatt.
She is a 2011 graduate of West Limestone High School and is currently attending Northwest Shoals Community College where she is pursuing a degree in nursing.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Barbara Carter of Athens and Edwina Sorge of Indiana and the late L.F. Carter and Virgil Sorge.
He is a 2009 graduate of West Limestone High School. He is currently a nuclear machinist’s mate for the Navy and is stationed in Charleston, S.C.
The wedding is planned for July 23, at Berea Baptist Church in Athens.
